THE RIGHT PATH 1
DESCRIPTION: Cairns are often used in the backcountry as a trail markers to point hikers and climbers in the right direction. They are often used to prevent navigational errors on a path where the right way may be unclear. You’re on the right track and heading in the right direction when you see one of these in the backcountry. Use this sun catcher as a way to remind yourself (or someone else) that you’re (or they’re) heading in the right direction. I designed these as a way to let someone know that you see them and their hard work. A beautiful way to remind yourself or others that the path chosen is the right one.
This handcrafted glass features a kinetic, geometric rock stack hanging from an interlocking, bronze, wheat chain. There are five individual, geometric rocks in this mobile, that change in size from large to small to create the perfect stack. Each rock has been assembled with different colors of glass and each has been individually wrapped in lead came for a sleek design.
APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS: 11.5” length (all 5 rocks from end to end - chain not included) 6” width (largest rock). Total length of this mobile including the full chain is 20” end to end.
HARDWARE: This glass comes with a bronze, wheat chain for hanging. The chain measures 8.5" inches in total length from the last eyelet to the top. The chain has been affixed to the piece.
DETAILS: Traditional Tiffany Stained Glass techniques were used to handcraft this piece of art. The final work has been framed with lead came and finished in a black patina to create a polished look that allows the colors to pop! A mix of opaque, translucent, and textured glasses have been used in unison to allow this glass to react playfully in the sun when backlit and it puts off a stunning refraction. This piece has been designed to be kinetic and move.
NOTES: Made with a mix of new and recovered glass.
